MARCH SEMINARS!
Hi there!
My name is Patrick Leonard. I’m a teacher of IT and EdTech Developer here at Wilberforce College in Hull.
I’m sending you this message as you are one of the participating schools in the EdTech Humber initiative, promoted and developed by Wilberforce College.
Alongside my colleague Lewis Marrow (our EdTech Ambassador), we are working alongside a variety of schools and Colleges – mostly across the Humber region – to promote and further integrate a wide array of digital technology into the educational sphere.
To this end, we founded and maintained this website to serve as a hub for this purpose.
This website serves as a hub, allowing educational establishments to learn about what we do, see some of our tips and tricks on video – and establish contact with other like-minded institutions.
I think it's fair to say that the pandemic has accelerated the need for staff and students alike to gain familiarity with the many educational tools we as educators now have at our disposal – Office, Teams, OneDrive, Sharepoint, Flipgrid... the list is endless. And that’s just Microsoft!
To further enhance lesson quality, embed best practice and get the very best out of the many educational tools at our disposal – we here in Wilberforce College will be presenting a series of lunchtime seminars every Friday lunchtime during the month of March.
The goal of these seminars is to imbue participants with a sense of excitement and possibility as to what these technologies can do!
Whether it be the enhanced note-taking features offered by OneNote, the effervescent dynamism of presentation software such as Sway, gauging students reading abilities using groundbreaking voice-recognition technology in Teams or the automation of repetitive tasks by harnessing the immense capabilities of Power Automate, there truly are boundless possibilities for making our day-to-day jobs easier and carving out the healthy work-life balance we so crave.
Lewis and I are both Microsoft Certified Educators. We are both also MIEE graduates (Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert); we would be delighted to share our experiences and advice with you and your colleagues.
Our seminars will be taking place via Teams at 11.15am on each of the following dates:
Friday 11th March 2022 - Sharepoint and Teams for Learning
Friday 18th March 2022 - Microsoft Sway for Learning
Friday 25th March 2022 - Power Automate for Learning
Thursday 31st March 2022 - Office 365 for Learning
We would be delighted if you could join us during one – or perhaps more! – of our seminars taking place next month.
In the meantime, we would be very grateful if you could give two minutes of your time to reach out to us here and if applicable, send us a query for EdTech-related information that may be of interest to you.
See you in March!
Kind regards,
Patrick Leonard.
